A Day at the Perfumery Workshop: What I Learned
Before the perfumery workshop, I thought it was 'just a hobby day.' When I left, I had both my own perfume and some things I didn't know about myself.
How the Day Began
The workshop started with a presentation of my birth chart. My sun, moon, and rising signs were analyzed, and three different 'scent directions' were suggested. At first I struggled to understand how astrology meets perfumery — but the perfumer explained step by step.
The Formulation Process
I smelled about 60 different raw materials. Some were familiar, some completely foreign. As the perfumer shared information about each note, I instinctively recorded my reactions — which scents I was drawn to, which I wanted to skip immediately.
My Own Perfume Emerged
After about 3 hours, we created a formula based on bergamot-rose-amber. When I smelled it for the first time, I said 'this is me' — that moment was truly unexpected and emotional.
